Apple Pay FAQs

Where can I get more information on Apple Pay?

More information can be found at apple.com

What steps do I need to take when I receive a replacement debit or credit card?

If your new card has a new card number, expiration date or security code, you should delete the old card and load your new card information. If your new card is an exact duplicate of the old card, no action is required.

Can I continue to use my plastic card if I suspend or remove my card in Wallet?

Yes. Only your device-specific Device Account Number is affected when you suspend or remove your cards in Wallet.

What should I do if my iPhone® or iPad™ is lost or stolen?

If your iPhone or iPad is lost or stolen, you can go to iCloud or use the Find My iPhone app to suspend or permanently remove the ability to pay with Apple Pay using that device. Your cards will be suspended or removed from Apple Pay even if your device is offline and not connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network.

How do I return an item that I bought using Apple Pay in a store?

The cashier will use the Device Account Number to find the purchase and process the return, just like they would with a traditional card payment. To see the last four digits of your Device Account Number, go to Wallet, tap the card, then tap the information icon.

If the cashier needs your card details to process the return, follow the same steps for making a payment.

Why is my transaction amount sometimes reported differently in Wallet®?

Some financial institutions provide only initial authorization amounts to Wallet, which might be different from the final transaction amount. You might see different transaction amounts from locations such as restaurants, gas service stations, hotels, and car rental companies. Refer to your credit or debit card statement for final transaction details.

Will I have to sign a receipt?

As you do today with an actual plastic credit or debit card, you might need to sign a receipt, depending on the store and the transaction amount.

When I’m paying in store using my debit card, should I choose “debit” or “credit” on the terminal?

When presented with this choice, we recommend you to choose “credit” to get the most consistent Apple Pay experience.

Where and how can I use Apple Pay?

You can use Apple Pay at more than 220,000 locations in the United States. Look for the wireless payment (NFC) symbol in stores, or the “Apple Pay” or “Buy with Apple Pay” button in apps.

How are my privacy and personal information protected?

Argent Credit Union card numbers and security code are not given to merchants. Apple Pay retains only anonymous transaction information such as approximate purchase amount.

How safe are my payments with Apple Pay?

When you use Apple Pay, your Argent Credit Union card number isn’t stored on your device, on Apple servers, or given to the merchant. A unique digital code is created specifically for that device.

Is Apple Pay free?

Yes. Please be aware that message and data rates may apply based on your data plan.

When I add my Argent card to Apple Pay it doesn’t look like the card in my wallet. Why?

Apple Pay uses a graphical representation, not an exact replica of your Argent card.
